Excitement in 1995 with a random backyard honey bee swarm in Rustburg, VA is still going strong today. Unprepared in 1995 to catch an afternoon swarm led to those girls leaving quickly. So, I accepted their challenge and purchased a book to educate myself and set out to try again. My attire at that time was insulated work coveralls taped closed and a mosquito net.
That enthusiasm for swarm catching I still find exciting today! I now call this "Swarm Hunting".
For nearly three decades I've had the pleasure of keeping honey bees and along the way have proudly shared experiences with those that are interested to learn. Many class rooms, events, parties, and individuals have had the adventure of a swarm or exposure to honey bees through an observation hive.
Paul Tabor, The BeeKeeper
Our small family business is made up of a husband and wife team. Paul is the main beekeeper and Stacy helps with the colonies and operates BeeUniQ home of Hill City Honey. Not all of our honey bees colonies are in one location so making rounds to out-yards can prove challenging even for the best organized scheduler. Our family and a few special friends help keep us going. Simply put we could not do what we do without these special helping hands!
A deep passion for honey bees runs through our veins. We are inspired by the tiny, but mighty, honey bee —
A gift from creation with all they do!
Aiming to raise honey bee awareness and the importance
over the past two almost three decades (29 years). We have had the opportunity to meet, share, and spread the buzz.
It is our pleasure to "inspire" new backyard hobby beekeepers in the Lynchburg and surrounding areas.
Our personal bee-lief is to bee all you can bee and strive to bee your best self!
Educating all ages about pollination is crucial for the

Have you thought about the flowers, trees, or crops the honey bees or other pollinators have a role in?
Love flowers, pretty weeds, and blooms in general. I find myself in awe when I think about the master plan and connections of nature.
The calming & soothing properties of lavender, therapeutic benefits of vanilla, rosemary, basil, thyme etc, etc... Just a few examples of the honey bees relation to essential oils. EO's can be added to aid in a lifestyle of wellness to layer well beeing practices with the hive components.
